The Neighbours hedge that is the bain of my life!!
« on: June 16, 2008, 19:44:25 »
This is one weeks growth, in fact 6 days before I cut all the growth coming to my side.  What would you do if you were in my shoes?  As you can see it strangles everything in its path!!

Invite them round to have a look and take it from there. If they aren't interested then a little drop of roundup on the leaves works wonders (after telling them that this particular shrub is not a long lived variety ;D)
But perhaps they don't realise just how invasive it is, and once they do they might do something about it.
Smile, it confuses people.

Cut back to boundary, as legally entitled, then paint the remaining leaves with neat Tumbleweed >:( :o

Drastic, but if they are not prepared to do anything about it, tough.

Why go to the expense of weedkiller.

Spray with neat malt vinegar

Sorry but I cannot make out what plant it is?
Is it on a long section of your fence? If not a solid fence panel would at least send it higher before drastic action is needed.

It looks like a 'mile a minute' plant (aptly named) or as it is listed in gardening catalogues, Russian vine.

Is this on an allotment?? I can see a house in the background, but that doesn't mean much. I know some allotments don't allow hedges.

Well done Springbokgirlie!

Hopefully you will get a wind free day to spray!

It is blowing a gale year - again!  I am so sick of the wind this year!

yep! After negotiating a fallen down tree on the road on the way home, i found a hanging basket emptied, a tomatillo broken in two and a euphorbia that was now 4 plants! Dread to think what has happened to the allotment....
