Georgie, is that a Clarice Cliff bowl you've got your strawberries in?

Sorry to go a bit off thread :-[

Oh I wish.  Rather fond of her pottery but no, sadly not.

And Jo you were right, they were delicious.   ;D

Looking good, Lorna.  The one on the farthest right looks ready to me - or are you saving that one for me?   ;)  ;D

Sorry Georgie you can have a cucumber but NOT my strawberries. Even the family won't get near them before I do ;D I even got Vickie to bring me some straw from her stables in case the little dears got muddy.

All I'm saying is that there was enough speculation when Grotbag kindly sent me some Asparagus spears in a cardboard tube.   ::)  :P

aw bless!  My daughter has strawberries in her little pink raised bed at the allotment. I took her down yesterday to pick some for daddy, for fathers day tea.  We returned home with three. This is no indication of how many she picked. very very few made it past her mouth  ;D

My son planted the strawberries two years ago and we've had a handful each year. This year i have a strawberry mountain. Today i took an old 1 litre icecream container with me for strawberries and I had to use the supermarket carrier i took down for my Broad beans as well...about the equivalent to 3 of the ice cream containers heaped......and more coming tomorrow! The car smelt good inside on the way home a nice change from the usual compost smell. But it's been a long wait.
