Big long yaaaaaaaawn.

Despite the fact that no UK teams are in the competition, no interest whatsoever.

In fact, no interest in sport whatsoever.

 :-\

I think Val expresses well the views of lots of people! The overblown nonsense about sport in the media makes it seem like everyone is interested.

Lots of us are very much not...

not surprising, Ruud, that people are a bit excited after that famous 3-0 win over Italy. Good luck for Friday!

Ruud, love the big footie matches, me - perfect excuse to eat pizza, drink lager from cans & scream at the screen 8) Makes a change from my usual sedate life :P

Think what might turn the laydees off is the Offside Rule- one of the Great Mysteries of Life? - or, at least it was 'til Telboy explained it for us in Watershed - an explanation that struck the hearts of the female persuasion ;D ;D ;D

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop
assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which
you must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them
with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had
no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop
and sees your dilemma.

She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other
shopper and buy the shoes.

At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and,
*whilst it is in flight* you could nip around the other shopper, catch
the purse and buy the shoes.

Always remembering that until the purse has *actually been thrown* it
would be plain wrong to be forward of the other shopper.

We're doing fantastically, RT.  I don't want to get ahead of myself but I reckon we're going to win it this time!!

I thought we had already won and gone home, as most of the English footballers seem to be in Italy for someones wedding....... ;D ;D ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

that wouldn't be a Mr Rayne Wooney Deb P? The Telegraph mentioned it on Wednesday, with a useful Italian phrase -ragazzo del fascia della patata. "Potato" I guess, not a clue about the rest  ;D

I always thought that 'on aggregate', meant that they played on a gravel pitch when it had been raining and the grass was wet!!    I have since been corrected, but still dont get the rules around it! And  guess what? I dont really want to know!!  ;D

Nothing to do with Euro 2008...whatever that is...!

Or maybe not...!

Euro 2008 Who will you support?

Germany - are you mad?
France - ditto
Portugal - that cheat Ronaldo got Rooney sent off
Italy - whole team are cheats
Austria - Germans in disguise
Greece - for some unknown reason are Euro champions and must lose
Turkey - is not in Europe
Switzerland - should not be playing football (ditto USA and Australia)
Poles - they come over here and steal all our jobs,,,(also Wembley 1973)
Romania - they come over here and eat all our swans
Russia - they come over here and poison all our restaurants
Sweden - bogey team for England
Spain - if Spain win, Engalnd are officially the worst big football country in Europe
Croatia - they stopped us from going

so it's either Holland or the Czech Republic. For me it's the Czechs, as your lot seem to go under 2 names, which can't be fair

Nope, OH used to love to watch football, but when it became 'big business' and no longer sport, he lost interest, which is what euro 2008 is all about - money.  Nothing whatsoever to do with 'sport'.

When I was young the Olympics were AMATEUR games.  Today they, like football, are big business.

Sport is just boring, the team with the most money stands the best chance of winning.

Could we go back to amateur games ??? ???
