Kiwi no fruit
« on: June 07, 2008, 21:53:21 »
I bought a Kiwi from LIDL 3-4 years ago.It stated on the label that it was male/female variety so I thought give it a few years to establish ( it's in a glass house' roots outside) and I thought I'd have enough kiwi to feed a small army!!

Huge disappointment!! 50-60 flowers this year and not 1 fruit.

What am I doing wrong??I have ventilated and misted the flowers.Am I wasting my time? should I cut my loses and pull it up and plant it outside?

we bought a jenny 6 years ago, self fertile, not a flower or fruit in that time, restricted roots, cut back as necessary, I'll follow this thread with interest  :)
thanks for reminding me

I've researched this a bit on line and know to cut back growth at certain times of the year. You allow a certain amount of new growth every year as the flowers/fruit appear on the new growth the next year.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.Maybe my soil isn't right?

I think it is a lost cause.

thoughts anyone?
