I get thousands of blackfly on my 'Sunburst' cherry every year, I have never spotted a single blackfly on any of the other varieties though.

guess what, baccy man, it's sunburst, don't remember readinga warning about blackfly when we bought it  :(

I didn't get a warning either despite the fact it came from a reputable supplier at a premium price. The first year it got to the point where you couldn't see the leaves for blackfly as it didn't occur to me to check it. Every year since it has been checked on regularly so I can get rid of them as soon as they appear.

yes, ours is from victoriana nursery, cost quite a lot, considering..still, will know next year  :)
