Compost Heap
« on: June 04, 2008, 12:57:26 »
Hi This may be a daft question but here goes,

At the minute i have two dalek compost bins that are completely full, is there any reason why i shouldnt just make a heap beside them for any compostable material i have from now on or will i have to make a new bin i.e with pallets.

Thanks

Of course you can make a heap beside them. It just won't look very tide, but the material will compost anyway.

I don't know how long it took to fill two daleks, but is there no finished compost at the bottom that you can use? That would make room for new material on top.

Thanks for quick reply i dont mind it being a bit untidy as my bins are out of the way behind my shed, i was just worried it may not rot down left uncovered, i have already emptied one of the daleks this year which is full again already.  When i empty next one i wanted to take it home as my compost bin at home has fell apart.
