We seem to have a lot of jackdaws in the garden for the first time this year. The same in my daughters garden. We went to Dunham Massey today & there were lots in there. In fact where ever I go ATM there seems to be Jackdaws. I can't put food on the bird table.
Am I alone in this.
Janet.

I have Jackdaws and Rooks constantly visiting my bird feeders, in fact they are rarely out of my garden.  A gang of them,  8 jackys and same amount of Rooks.  I have tried all sorts of things to keep my seed feeders on their hooks but the Jackdaws are clever and still manage to get at them, lift them off the hooks, the seed spills out and they eat it up.  Sick of them.   At least I have no Magpies though.

Jackdaws (and blackbirds) love bits of cheese.  If you put that out, it may give the other birds a chance at the seed.  You can also buy Jackdaw decoys, like some people buy Heron decoys for their ponds.  Not sure if they work though.
