cucumber
« on: June 18, 2008, 12:13:10 »
Was checking my cucumbers yesterday and found a small cluster of grey eggs under a leaf, Would be maybe 10/12 eggs about 1/16th of an inch dia perfectly round  and very grey in colour, Didnt take photo cos i was so incenced/mad that something had the nerve i squished them ,Then sanity returned and i realised what id,e done.

Any ideas on what they were?

Hard to tell without seeing.  But I would be doing a U'turn and clearing them off my plants.  Better safe than sorry ???

Possibly some sort of Moth or Butterfly eggs, if so you did the right thing 'squishing' them.

At this stage they are harmless but if allowed to hatch then your problems would have started.
