Do tall peas need support?
« on: May 07, 2008, 13:19:07 »
I'm growing a few tall peas for the first time (Alderman & Ne Plus Ultra).  Do they need supporting and, if so, what do you think is the best way of achieving this?

Sticks placed strategically at the sides of the peas and string around them...or a criss cross pattern of sticks down each side of the row......or plastic barrier fencing right the way round(the stuff you see on building sites.
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

I'll just have to improvise - have some arches from a sale at wilko that are about 2.5 m.  This could be fun - and another excuse not to finish the fruit cage.

I planted mine out yesterday; I'm using wigwams made of eight foot bamboo, with string spiralled round to provide something to cling to.
