Anyone else got a freebie?
«

Got a parcel today from rhs/ns&i/grow your own. A little pot of some kind of granules, apparently with Lollo Rosso seeds in the top layer. I have to fill it with water and should see shoots within a few days.
Not sure why I got it or how it works, but will be interesting to see!

YES!! I did Caroline, I got mine this morning too, I've opened it and watered it as per instructions. Not sure I hold out much hope for a bumper crop from it though!!! ;D Still it's interesting to experiment.

Where did you register to get one? I'd like a go! I never seem to get any freebies!

It was through the RHS grow your own website. You had to fill in a questionnaire and then I have since been sent a couple of packs of free seed and now the little pot to grow lettuce in (looks like one of those mini coke cans you get on an aeroplane to mix with spirits) I've been to have a look on the rhs website but I can't find the link so they must have stopped it now.

I got one of the lollo rosso pots at the Grow Your Own Veg day at Harlow Carr in March. It is a mini hydroponic kit. One seed germinated and it is the saddest lettuce I've ever seen - pale, lank and looking terminally ill. I think plant euthanasia may be the kindest action to take.

I didn't remember registering anywhere, although I do vaguley remember doing that quiz. I must say.having come by post I would think the seeds have moved from the "top layer"- we shall see!

I registered, then told several friends & posted on here. Several friends have had goodies, nothing for me. Where is the justice, I ask you!

did you by any chance click the don't contact me buttons? Or not click the do contact me buttons. I always opt out so I don't suppose I'll get anything - can't have it all ways. :-\
My mum got a free strimmer with her new lawnmower at the weekend & she's put it aside for me. Not sure why as I have no lawn. Oh, and she bought the lawnmower because she mowed over the cable of her other one and it went bang. <ho hum>

Free packet of mixed sunflowers for cutting. They're germinating well. Interesting (to me) how much faster fresh seed germinates than my stored ones.

but why mention lollo rosso if there are no seeds??? i am confused!!!!
Doesnt take much tho :P :-[

That's how I read it at first, then read again and it says "seeds are in the top layer". I watered mine to the top and now they have swelled up over the top!If I were you, I'd just sprinklr the whole lot on top of a pot of compost and see what happens! We can compare notes later!
