Amelanchier
« on: April 18, 2008, 17:10:01 »
I bought this plant about three years ago. Dug it up and put on a pot last year to make room for a water feature and have to admit it's been a bitneglected- silly, since it's one of my favourite plants. It is flowering now but only one flower (or cluster of flowers). Is there anything I can do to encourage it to flower more either this year or in future? Or how easy is it to propagate?

Sounds like it just needs a bit of time to adjust to its new home -  and maybe a dollop of TLC. I reckon it'll be fine next year.

On the same subject, I have one and it's a small tree but i notice my local garden centre has them as multi stemmed bushes which would suit my garden better. So could I safely coppice it ? It's about 8ft tall
