Ours is the same CaseyLee, been trying for weeks to get hold of someone about dates for free bark, but nobody seems to know who the mysterious person is who deals with it!  :)
What I lack in ability and experience, I make up for in sheer enthusiasm!!!

Same again here - our council are supposed to give away free compost and bark chips for mulch. I have tried email, ringing, letters all to the department that is responsible. I have never been able to get hold of a person who can arrange it - so I am starting to think its one of those things they say they will do - looks god on the council sustainability plan - but they never actually do. Unless its all going to one site and they don;t want to share with other lottie sites in the their area.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. I've just found where BBC Wales puts GW when there's rugbi on - they put it on Saturday instead of Dad's Army  ???

I've thought about having a pattern like his. Can't comment about where the wood came from, but for a lot of us, we get our free stuff by hoiking it out of other people's skips in the dead of night, and they can't show that

Only criticism is that his paths are too wide, but that's probably for the camera crew

reminds me of your website more entertainment then real information.
Also there only one t in "targeting".

Where did that come from? >:( I don't find TeeGee's site entertaining at all- just a mine of useful information!

Firstly thanks to all those people who come to my defence regarding the comments 'thegreatgardener' made about my website.

Secondly; Normally I don't respond to such comments but I thought as this person seems to have read the information contained in my website let me reply by saying;  he/she is quite free to pass what ever comments they wish after all it is a free world.

And to be quite honest they might be quite right with their remark, because as it happens I have already declared something to that effect in the preface of the site.http://tinyurl.com/36mxgx. where I state;

In the main the site has been constructed to highlight to the reader, tasks for a given time of the year, and not as an 'in depth'information package on gardening.

But then again you might have missed that bit due to the the 'entertainment' value of the site, or possibly you were looking for spelling mistakes!

BTW; Did you ever consider it  could have been  a 'typing error'? i.e. I hit the T twice?

No matter you have made your point.

Back to the thread;

I am sure Joe, who I believe to be a qualified man, will have read many books on gardening but like many has been unable to translate the scripture into practice.

I put this down to the degree of depth some books go into whereas books of a simpler nature seems to fit the bill for most.

My website (I like to think) fits into that category as mentioned above.

I rest my case.....................THE END

p.s.I ask again; Should we or should we not have one thread dedicated to this series?

It certainly seems to have caught the imagination of many on these boards?

Tee Gee,we should wait until we see admin online and then PM him.

Its not only the allotment saga,there are many threads on the same subject that could be "merged" Im sure.

I dont mind either way about the Joe Swift threads. Tee Gee, I wouldn't take any notice of the occasional stupid, negative comment that gets thrown your way. Your web site is excellent, and, a real help, as are all of your posts.

How about we have a different thread for each program

When correcting peoples spelling, it's best to check your own first...

But maybe he is to cocky to do the most basic research on the subject.

There are two o's in too.

I got two loads of wood chippings delivered free,from a local tree surgeon. He was glad to get rid of it,he usually has to pay to dump it.

We get mountains of dead leaves and grass cuttings delivered, from a local gardening contractor. Given the cost of landfill, there must be loads of potential sources, it's just a matter of finding them.

I don't see what's wrong with straw in manure.
