Sligo - It rained like a you-know-what yesterday, but the sun came out today in fits and bursts - just about enough to help us keep the faith. ;)

It rained overnight - most of the day and.... by way of a change... it's raining again right now.

But from late afternoon we've had no rain at all. The washing is on the line at this very minute!  ;)

Amazing the sun is shining here.  Lovely.  Lets hope the courgettes get excited.  I think the sweetcorn was growing as I watched.  I don't think it will last long but enjoying a few bright moments.   Lovely at the lottie this morning.

Lovely here... clear, warm and sunny.

I want to be on the plot putting in my leeks - late and still waiting!

(Just done the usual chores & my parents lunch served. They would have preferred trout, apparently, rather than boiled eggs. Had smoked mackerel lunch yesterday!...Today - sardines on toast. OH has gone shopping to keep their food cupboards [and ours] stocked and I'm waiting for my transport back so I can escape before I need to sort out dinner at 5.30.)

Torrential rain this morning as I set off for work - like driving through a river! Turned out nice this afternoon but from the forecast I think it's the calm before the storm. Not looking good for a weekend at the Burton Agnes jazz and blues festival!

Well today was greeted with a big yellow ball in the sky - first time since I can remember. Went to the plot for the first time, for three weeks, to do some work -5 hours later - happy did a lot.

Nice day, very humid, it's supposed to pee down again tomorrow. I've never seen a year so bad since I had the plot.

Oh dear  :-[     after a really lovely day yesterday we have returned to the wet stuff. Hopefully we won't get the heavy downpours forecast for East Anglia. Off to welcome the Olympic Torch to Southend with grandson this morning. Taking the waterproofs. ::)

Peeeing it down.  People at the allotments are apprehensive after last weeks' floods, but there's no danger of further flooding unless it gets very considerably worse. It's just another day when we can't work, and the bees can't collect nectar.
