Horrible mixture of driven rain and large snowflakes in Leicester this morning for two hours. In a temperature of 2c it was bone-chilling.
Only the thought of greenhouse louvres open to the north wind got me down to the lottie.
Thank you for the water, Lord, but could we have from the warm tap please???
Why plant rows of 24 lettuces??

Three and a half rows of potatoes went in yesterday and it promptly rained over night and into the morning.  :)

Not bad today - sunshine of the warmish variety.

More rain needed tonight. 6oC tonight according to the weather fore guesscast.

7c, overcast morning and clouds just starting to break.
Around 1 inch of rain yesterday has soaked in well on my plot, looks like it's at field capacity.
Thank heavens the wind has dropped and I can repair the plastic cover on my ''greenhouse''!!

Really cold here.  We have had to economise because of the cost of oil central heating so only have it on for half an hour three times a day.  We have also turned the radiators off in rooms we do not use very often.  I am sitting here wearing two fleeces, a jumper, trousers, socks and a thermal vest yet am still cold.  Think I had better get on with some ironing as that will warm me up.

It is very cold here today, wind rather bitter.  I have taken to wearing a large fluffy dressing gown over my clothes in the house.

Pauline, I do the same radiator turned off in dining room(I eat in the kitchen so only use dining room when I have company) I don't have the bedroom one on as I don't like hot bedroom but I do have electric blanket on for half hour before bed. Have just had combi boiler fitted, I am told it will work out cheaper. Rained more or less all day yesterday but blue sky and sunshine today. A real nip in the air but have kept warm as I have started decorating lounge. After the gas fire and back boiler were removed I landed up with just  a plastered wall where they filled in the hole. Hope you are well. xxx

Cold start, grey and gloomy, but brightened after lunch to a sunny afternoon, still cold though.

Very frosty here, was going to lottie early but put my noise outside and took it back in immediately.   Will try again when the sun gets a bit stronger after 8am.

Zero degrees this morning and thick frost on plot at 7.30.  Should remain sunny for a few hours, but I'm stuck in work till 5. (I've had 1 customer in 90 minutes; hardly seems worth it!!)
