What's the weather like where you are?

Summers arrived here - another very warm and pleasant day.

More to come and I'm hoping it will last through the week-end too.  ;)

Ice-cream sales will be rocketing at the weekend.

I saw a Mr Whippy van out and about this afternoon. Summer's not done for yet!!

Don't know what the weather is like because it's dark... he he

Yesterday it was beautiful. If we don't have rain I will have to irrigate the garden or I will lose some plants.  Like many of you, Jersey has seen very little rain this summer so I have had to irrigate often. The soil in my garden is 85% shale and 15% sand.  I use water from a deep bore hole and send it through four sprinklers that I have installed twenty odd feet up and out through the tops of trees. With all four sprinklers working I am using a little under 4,000 gallons an hour.  Hopefully the water will go back to the borehole eventually.

Just got to make the best of the last of the summer's sun....

Hoping to get my parents out in it today while it's warm enough and we have the time..... just waiting for my brother-in-law to return the "I'll bring it back by Wednesday" wheelchair that he borrowed.  >:(

Sitting in front of a monitor is just too much on such a beautiful day!

Today was another scorcher in Sussex as I guess it was for most people.  8)

We went for a trundle... one in a wheelchair, me on foot and one on a scooter not honking his hooter.

Went to view what was once the most lovely wide open stretch of Grade II agricultural land - rich red soils surrounded by hedgerows. Now... a mass of concrete and new roads with many mini houses none with front gardens and few with any green at all.

Sad to see our little village surrounded by 650 new houses and the farmland gone.  :(

But it made a change to be outside - first time this month. It was warm and the air was fresh.  :)

Beautiful, beautiful weather here in West Essex.  Standing room only on the bus home from work though - so not very pleasant at all! (I practically slid off when we pulled into town ... )

Forecast is lovely right through til Monday evening so that's nice.  Due to head off on holiday to South Wales next Saturday so I'll be expecting this ...

Wonder if the temps will stay high enough tomorrow to break the UK record for October? I think it has to be 29.5 or above :o

I was keeping positive about my squash plants too... only I've not visited them for a while and wonder if they are getting thirsty in all this super sunshine.  ::)

SamLouise - have a great time in Wales. We were there at the end of July and, surprisingly, it didn't rain then either.  8) Fingers and things crossed for good weather for you.  ;)

Beers outside the pub last night at 10PM and it's already sweaty this morning - London seems to have it's own brand of muggy, humid heat! Oh yes and I got a blight alert!!
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!
