The thermometer just hit 36 degrees out on the decking!  I have taken refuge in a large cool drink and a good book under a brolly.  Thank goodness all watering done at lottie early this a.m.

A lovely day today at the allotment, not too hot.  Got a lot done, and a lot of chat, have made two new friends.  Yesterday was too hot but today chopped the mares/horse tail, I have even given them names as I will beat it.  Did some watering and all in all a very pleasant day.

Bottoms,.... just been chased in by the rain here in Swindon, but after raining quite a lot tonight it should pass early tomorrow morning 9between 4 and 7 apparently) so with my agreed late start at work tomorrow I should get everything I need to do outside done then (plant tall peas on wigwam around palm tree, plant out last of the crimson broadies next to the ones that went in yesterday)... the rest is indoor stuff (rejig autowatering to be saner than olast time cos I loeft it running all day yesterday and although it was exactly what the bed needed to get it started I need to set up the timer for the weekend as it takes too long to water the polytunnel by hand now..... Need to repot some peppers and various other bits and bobs but can do that under shelter apart form the trips to the van to get the soil/compost mix I picked up this morning early (28 quid a tonne at Crappers in Wooton Basset if you shovel iot yourself, as is topsoil and as is compost itself..... they weigh you in and out and charge the difference.... except they've got a tare weight for me logged now and it's erroneously high :D so my first 150 kilos or so is free.....

We had the very occasional drip falling from the sky, but that was all. The sluicegates of heaven seem to have rusted up solid round here.

Some decent heavy rain coming down in Cheshire today.
Funny how your attitude to rain changes when you have to water by hand during dry spells  ;D

Properly raining in Leicester now. Just in time for the ripening strawberries (well forming at least.)
The only downside? Off to work on the Vespa at 2pm I hope its stopped by then.

Raining and very windy here in Swindon.  Must admit pleased to see the rain, but can do without the wind. Cracks in the good old Swindon clay you can put your hand in.  I wish I new were all the compost disappears to that goes on the ground in the winter.

WET  in North Yorkshire. Went for a 6-mile walk around Rivaulx Abbey and it barely stopped raining the whole time, and saved the torrential stuff for the last 10 mins so we were like drowned rats and just had to seek sanctuary in the tearoom. ;)

I am going out to do a rain dance in a minute, not a drop here in sunny Salisbury.
