When I thought that I might do 'Market Gardening' on retirement, I had much success with cuttings - such reward!

What I want to happen is to let the silver sand trickle into the hole formed by pushing the cutting into it.

This ensures that I have a minute amount of sand around and below the cutting which allows it to breathe and drain thus reducing the chances of damping off.
