sweet potatoes (again)!!!
« on: February 14, 2008, 20:02:50 »
hi folks,
can anyone tell me how to find the thread on sweet pots .Thought I'd bookmarked it but mustn't have done it right. I work in the s/mkt where " every little helps "so thought you might be able to do the same, thought I may buy a couple soon  and take some  " slips"  and try them
.Also am I right in thinking that they climb like beans but  the tubers grow in  deep soil ???

hiya, dave..have you tried the search at the top, our sweet pots are in half, in their glasses of water, covered with a cut off 2 pint bottle on the windowsill, one has roots, the other has slips starting..
and yes, you can grow them up, and the tubers grow underneath the soil at the base.. ;D

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Well thanks for those few kind words Deb... but hardly... I buy in mine as slips from the dreaded T+M    (ouch at the expense!)
