carrots planted last august...
« on: February 11, 2008, 23:28:16 »
I planted some carrot seeds in a patio tub last september. The idea was to have some carrots for xmas, but it was not meant to be! The carrots made it to the stage where the root would just be starting to thicken out into an actual carrot. The plants have not died off over winter, will they continue to grow now or just go straight to seed?

Hi Sparkly,  thinned mine out in the two old plastic dustbins this weekend, having planted them about the same time as you. I'm just going to leave them to it and see if they thicken up.
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

it's a fifty fifty call Sparkly... naturally the plants seed and germinate in Autumn and grow through the whole year... flowering the year after so keep your fingers crossed.
