Topic: Milk Bottles and Crates

My milkman regularly delivers my milk in a crate. I always hate giving these back, cause they look SOOO useful. BUT, having said that, I can't think of any decent use for them down the allotment. Anyone got any good ideas?

Also, any good ideas for glass milk bottles? I do just send them back - as that is what the process is, but is there a useful use for them that would be worth "Skimming a few" or asking for the end of life bottles from the milkman?

Our milk bottles are marked as "property of Dairycrest" so I think keeping them would be frowned upon. The crates may be the same.

Crates sound like good seats, also I hsave two baskets that say property of Neto, guess what?.... they are full of rubbish

The traditional ones are so solid you can use them as beehive stands. You wouldn't believe what a hive can weigh at the end of summer when it's crammed with bees and honey.

Don't know about down the lottie, but beer or milk crates are very useful around the home and garden. We use them for decorating (extra height) when sawing wood (mini workbench) and loads of other things that I can't think of at the moment!!

I have a pair of green Watney's ones that I am particularly proud of!!

Well the bottles can go back - I just wondered whether there may be a better use ;)

The crate though I'm keeping, I like the idea of the cane holder! :D
