Topic: What are your Sowing Plans for Tomatoes this season ?

I've always been hopeless with tomatoes - but will try again this year...

But that shop near Worksop sounds good - and I'll be passing that way around Easter weekend;  Morton, do you think they'll have plants by then??

Thats the place miniroots. Its on the A619 next to the railway bridge just near the junction with A60 Mansfield Road. The A619 is the road from Junction 30 of the M1.
Although Easter is early this year they are sure to have some growing but I seem to think that they are shut on Mondays. Its worth a call in when you are passing anyway. Get talking to the owners when you are there as they are really friendly and helpful. And take some bread to feed the ducks on the lake.

Have just been on Google Maps and found the Nursery no bother. The images of this area are the sharpest I have come across on Google Sat mapping, fantastic.  8)

Sorry, Mikey - missed that.

My contribution won't help much - I'm only repeating Nectar & Soleane, & trying Rosada (to replace Santa) & Ship Saint from Moles. Love the big fruit, but too old to cope with too many varieties.

Lost 90% of mine to blight on the lottie last year :'( , so I will be growing mine in the garden this year.  ;D ;D ;D

Anyone grown any sub arctic plenty? I also have some gardener's delight, but a few people have told me they're tasteless?

I've grown and will be growing Sub Arctic Plenty again. Gardener's Delight is OK by me, I don't grow it any more but it grows well and has more taste than a lot of newer varieties...

I think impatience is going to be my downfall with tomatoes, I can't stop eating em once they're there!! Nobody else gets a look in lol   ;D

I always have a sacrificial plant by the greenhouse door, a really tasty cherry like "Black Cherry" or Sungold... and if you are cropping well 5-10lb a week from an 8x6 cold greenhouse is enough... I also use half of my 10x8 Polytunnel.. and a few outside...
Still eating the tomato slop... much better than tinned tomatoes for mixing into meals..
