Hello everyone ;D
Just a question.... the thought of a perennial broccoli is great but i am worried about leaving it in the same place for it's 3 year life? :o Would it not be very prone to clubroot and all those other nasty brassica diseases if it is to stay in the ground?
Has anyone ever tried this? ???
Thanks

If you are worried about clubroot, when planting the broccoli out, stick a small piece of rhubarb stem in the hole.
I am growing it for the first time, but will have it in a garden border rather than allotment.

I too did the rhubarb thing in my clubrooty soil, and has worked for me too! Gardener J you just put about a 1inch cube in the hole you are planting your brassicas into.

okey dokey!
I have just lost my mentor, he was only 44 he died last week of a heart attack, he was a lovely man. I am only 26, he thought it was fascinating that someone my age could be interested in gardening!
Thanks D
