My Funny weed today in the garden.
« on: March 30, 2008, 21:16:38 »
I was rather annoyed at this horrible weed sprouting up in the middle of my radish bed.

I gently tried to loosen it.. It would not budge.  I pulled harder nothing.

Got the small fork, pushed underneath it, it still would not budge.

At this point i was getting rather annoyed... and dug deeper, it went on forever and ever.

It was going underneath my lovely new radish seedlings.

In the end I had to make a decision, and decided to lose my radish seedlings and dig this evil monstrous weed that was invading my patch.

Out came the big fork!!.... I dug deeper, it still kept going!!!.

After half an hour of digging and tugging, it finally came free.  Falling on my backside with a grin on my face that I have this weed in my hand.... Guess what was at the end of it.... A POTATO!!.

My daughter planted one in the garden in the veg patch without telling me, she was only trying to help she says.  She found it in the bottom of the veg cupboard and it sprouted, so she decided to plant it LOL.

Well we all had a good laugh about it..... !!! :D :D :D

2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
