polythene to cloche
« on: December 09, 2007, 17:48:27 »
I have been given some sheets of clear polythene. Has anyone any ideas for making arches so I can staple the polythene to them to make cloches?  I think I saw something on a previous thread but can,t find it.  Help please.

Geoff Hamilton used to use stiff hose, with dowels in the end to put in to the soil.  I think there was a nail and string arrangement to then hold the sheeting in place.

If you end up making a wooden frame, it's wise to line it with strips of underlay or foam to prevent rubbing in windy weather. Otherwise it won't last very long before tearing. :)
