Get your seed orders ready!
« on: June 29, 2004, 17:55:55 »
As i am about to sort out a list of all the seed packets I dont want (freebies with Amateir gardening).

These will be mostly half hardy/ bedding types, some unusual ones too.

As i say i will  be making a list in the next few days so watch this thread for updates. ;D

In return? Well I am interested mainly in hardy herbaceous perennials, and ornamental grasses (if any available) and maybe some veggies, a lot to ask i know but i want seed of stuff i am interested in growing.

Heres the deal you see what you haveand I'll do teh same and then we'll see.

I know i promised this before but this time it is the real deal.

I am having a 'clear out' of a load of seed that I have received free from magazines etc. I have far too many and would love to see them go to good homes.

You should see the list - I'll post it once its typed up!

I should add i dont really want to swap seed packet for seed packet - as I'll still have too many. I am prepared to do 'two for ones' or swap other things of equivalent value.

As I said before -watch this space!

Think that they are all going for sale on Ebay.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Sorry to keep you 'hanging on' folks.

Putting seed swap on hold while i have a go at selling on EBAY.

Might put some swaps up later, have to see how it goes.

Sorry again  :-[

Yes you do Aqui! you and several others so i gather! (multiveg?)

EDIT

On second thought I've found some veggie seeds some of you might be interested in:

1 packet of the following: -

Courgette -'All Green Bush'
Rhubarb 'Glaskins Perpetual'
Tomato 'Sungella' (orange variety)
Tomato 'Cream Sausage' (orange 'plum' type)
Strawberry 'Fraises des bois'
Strawberry 'Wonderfull Wimbledon'

Would be interested in swapping for different types of tomato, salads, other fruit/veg, herbs or ornamental herbaceous perennials/grasses.

Post a list of what you are interested in swapping and what you have to offer in return.

Bad MV!

RIchard - I'm not going to swap, because, well you know. But does your packet of strawbs wonderful wimbledon come with any details? I have some plants, but want to know things like when they are supposed to fruit and if they are alpine/wild strawbs (the first year's fruits were tiny). And any other details would be greatly appreciated. (I can send you some herbs or fancy aquis if you want any in exchange for information!)

Aqui - sorry its been so long replying.

As far as i can tell 'Wonderfull Wimbledon' are an 'ordinary' strawberry variety ie not alpine or wild. The picture o the front shows normal sized fruit.

Plenty of germinating/growing instructions but none on fruiting.

These seeds were freebies with AG magazine. i generally prefer growing strawberries as/from young plants.  IN fact I received 10 new bare root plants in the post from T&M only yesterday!

Swapping for info? Thats a good one, though if like me you have a glut of seed, and dont want to swap seeds for seeds, i suppose its one way  ;D

Dont know what my 'info' would be worth though. What have you got?

Richard - I have LOADS! Lots of unusual Aquilegias (in case you hadn't guessed), other hardy periennials, loads of unusual herbs and a few unusual tomatoes. My other veggies I'm keeping for myself.

Interested? I'm fed up of seeds going out of date. I have so many I want to pass some on!

I thought you'd say something like that!

Sure i'd be interested.  Shame to let seed go to waste I say. Aquilegias deffo. Any thing else depends on what it is - i'd want something i havent got and/or can grow!

If you have a list perhaps you could PM it to me. then i could/can choose.

Are you sure i cant offer something in return?
