Topic: Toms and runners

Any one still harvesting toms and runners, my tommies in the garden are still producing loads and they are not in a greenhouse ( thanks for the tigerellas Alisha, Mr Stripeys are still going strong ). The runners on the lottie are still coming thick and fast, when others over the lottie finished theirs ages ago I suppose I was late putting both in.  ;D ;D ;D

Toms are really winding down - no more beefsteak, but plenty of cherry varieties.

Runners, well we did fleece them over when we were threatened with frosts recently.  Still have quite a good crop to come - fingers crossed!!

I do so hate this time of year - the shutting down of the greenhouse, the dark days.

toms in the gh still producing flowers.  Loads of green toms in the potting shed.  Beans fizzling out, but still a few flowers being produced ... reckon the cold will see them off soon.

Down to my last tomato plant in the greenhouse, its been a fun year.

Loads of cooking toms (marmande etc) still, but runners finished a week or two back. French beans having a second crop though, glad I didn't pull them up earlier. ;D

I've left loads of runners on hoping they will give me some nice seeds for next season. Might take the tub into the greenhouse incase we get any frost.
Tomatoes outside are still green, they'll get frosted before I get a chance to eat them, I bet.  :-\

Plenty of toms in the greenhouse, peppers and chillies still ripening well too.

Outside I have a few runners that were very late starting still producing, but loads of purple podded peas and purple french beans just podding up in the bed where my outdoor toms expired from blight in June...... ;D

Plenty of Toms in the G'house and Poly still, picked Runners yesterday and a late crop of DFBeans is cropping well (only put in at the end of July)

Toms in g/h now seem to be finished, just ripening off the odd cherry. Picked the last of the runners sunday and very nice they were too, will leave the rest for seed. DFB second planting in a trough going away in g/h, loads of flowers and small beans keeping fingers crossed.
      Loads of corno rosso peppers still growing in pots in g/h but dont know if they will ripen,big enough to use green if i have to.

Toms just finishing now.  Beans?  Every single plant - and there were quite a few! - got snaffled by slugs and snails  >:(   The little so and so's even munched their way through the odd ripe tomato - I've not had that before.

I've a frog in my greenhouse - do they take out snails? If so perhaps I should lift it up onto the staging.

I ask because I spotted a snail/slug trail on the glass near one of my ripening tomatoes.
