Is it just me
« on: September 16, 2007, 13:41:50 »
Or is there anybody else out there who has to relace every new pair of shoes. The stupid shoe shops all have one long side and the other threaded over and over. What's wrong with crossing both over till you get to the top.

Its enough to drive a real man into wearing loafers.

Answers quietly please, I am still a bit delicate from last night.

Oh, you're on about the laces  ???

The way with one long bit and the other side looped through, means you get straight laces across the front of your shoe/trainer - it's "cool" that way apparently  ;)  ;D

I disagree sandles are the way to go

http://www.shoesinternational.co.uk/product.cfm?stockNumber=14477

I have had 3 pairs of the above ( in various colour combos ) in 12 years!! and the 3rd pair is only 3 months old. I have gardened, mountin climbed and walked up glasiers in these. The most comfortable pair of shoes i have ever owned.

I have also bought Rohda court shoes which are still going strong :-)

Its enough to drive a real man into wearing "loafers".

Are your American 'loafers' what we call slip-ons?

(Some old proverb from where I can't remember,  but my word, ain't it true!!)

Yep, that's the ones. Usually worn by those that bat for the other side.

Hence the expression 'He's a bit light on the loafers'
