Are there any types of black currant that can be eaten raw without loads of sugar ?
I eat raw jostaberries but are there any other types ?

I always eat blackcurrants straight off the bush or if they make it home, in a dish with yogurt or such, Wasteful to cook them.

Really the shop ones are too sharp - do the home produced taste better ?
What type/s are you growing ?

I would like to grow blackcurrants next year but actually it's only for making alcohol ha ha
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
