Bulbs now for autumn flowers?
« on: September 05, 2007, 15:55:55 »
Hello all! It's been a long time but I've moved house and now have a patio garden. So I'm planting herbs and stuff and wondered if there are any bulbs I could get for autumn flowers? I have small pots and flower boxes in the garden but also a large communal area out front that is just shrubbery that I thought I could spruce up. So sun in the garden, but shade in the communal spot.

My allotment alas has been neglected for months. :( I'm probably going to have to give it up.

thanks for any advice!
Tina.

Lots of autumn flowering Crocus on sale at present and of course Colchicums. Then there are Cylamen hederifolium for shrubby areas. Buy the latter in pots, not the dried bulbs you see in garden centres, they rarely row well.
Gardening is the great leveller.
