Shed's been broken into
« on: August 29, 2007, 21:05:20 »
Only a matter of time I suppose before 'they' realised they only needed to unscrew the hasp thing and I had one of those security clasps that I have been meaning to put on for ages.............

Stole my radio...........grr........deffo kids and I know where they live, just don't which kid in particular.....

Reported it to the police.  Took all details and said I would get a call back within 72 hours from the Telephone Investigation Bureau (TIB)??? who would give me a PRN.

What's ironic is that this afternoon I emailed our local councillor trying to get some funding for the fence to be repaired/replaced!  I'm going to be emailing him again.........

Took the shine off of finding a whole tub full of slug free strawberries, but they still tasted great with ice cream.

SMP sorry to hear your bad news. I hope one of the parents notices the stuff they took and makes them return it.
Pigs might fly I think, before that happens  :(

Don't bother locking mine any more, I just don't leave anything of importance in there (only tea bags and a jar of coffee. ;D) All tools are very ancient and not resaleable.
Sorry to heat about yours, SMP.

Its a bluddy nuisance when things like this happen. None of us lock our sheds on our site cos they just break them open. Our Bunjy (my daughter) leaves hers a right bloomin mess and nothings ever taken. They probably look in  and think again. We are expecting our old GH to be ransacked any day but so far it's ok. Still time left for it to get done over tho.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

On my allotment, kids broke the lock off next doors shed,  took his fork and lifted his potatoes with it, stole the lot and left the fork broken.   I despair at some of the kids of today  :(

I'm with Robert on this one Hilary - it sounds far too premeditated and even a whole posse wouldn't need that many for their spud guns ;)

My break-in is becoming quite odd.  I noticed today that my neighbours either side have also had their shed locks unscrewed.  It's a neat job, they even took the screws with them!

Oh Dear...If they could unscrew the lock I don't think it had been put on correctly  :(. The screws should be hidden once it is in the locked position (Padlock inserted).

If it had been a security lock, then yes, but this was just an ordinary flippy over thing and the padlock hooks into the loop - a bit like a hook and eye?

Just picture me trying to explain this on the phone to the Police ::) ;D :-[

It's amazing what the b*ggers can do with a screw driver or a crowbar or the like. ::)

Terrible to hear that, What is the purpose in having a shed when you have to carry your spades and rakes home every time?  I am glad having a extra plot at work, very safe and nobody can visit the plots unless working here..... But it is hard that nothing seems to be safe anymore......
