I have a little nut tree and nothing does it bear, not a silver nutmeg and not a silver pear.   :'( :'( :'( :'(

how old are the trees, do you prune, over prune, does it blossom (catkins and flowers), what kind of nuts are they - there will be a reason

I never prune it, but it has never grown above 6 foot and has been in the garden for 7 years.  It is multi stemmed, more a bush than a tree.  Never flowers.  It is in the dappled shade of the willow tree.  We are on London clay in dry Essex and mostly things do exactly what they are supposed to.  This just sits there.  It looks lovely in leaf.  Mum bought it for me when we lived in Kent, so I have probably owned it for 10 years, but it spent the first couple in a large pot.  She told me is was a Kentish Cob.

that's quite a long time to be reluctant to flower (very tiny flowers) or produce catkins - maybe prune it now so as to prepare it for spring flowers next year :-\

seriously though, keep the shape nice and take several branches down a third (more if you think it is big enough and can take it) - this might just generate a bit of realisation that it needs to start flowering - shouldn't need feeding but maybe some comfrey leaves at the base
