tomatoes and the cold
« on: August 28, 2007, 16:22:09 »
Here in Stockholm the temperatures are around 5 degrees at night. But sadly, not one tomato is ripe yet, though I have tons. Some tomatoes are grown on the balcony in buckets and the others are on the allotment.

How cold is too cold for tomatoes?

And how do you know when to pick them and let them ripen indoors?

Thanks!

As long as they don't freeze, they should be OK. As to when to pick, mine in sunny England in the greenhouse haven't started ripening yet. I'll give them until about the end of September.
