fruit/nut trees
« on: August 14, 2007, 16:57:35 »
I have an area roughly 1/3 of a plot that I currently are growing a variety of veg. We have a 2nd plot which is just at the start of clearing. Eventually I plan to use the full plot for veg using raised beds and standard rotation and use the 1/3 to plant a few fruit trees.

The types I quite fancy are:

*apricot, plum, hazelnut, pear and cherry.

We already have plenty of apples that are well establised on the new plot. Can anyone suggest any varieties of the above, or any varieties of other fruit trees that are good? Small growing trees would be ideal. The area is about 10x10ft and I don't want to plant too much that will take all the water from the surrounding plots and make my neighbours hate me!
