Puppies and kittens
« on: July 26, 2007, 20:53:12 »
Well we decided to go the whole hog and have an entirely 'new' generation of pets.  Still got one grumpy old mog, but she is not the most friendly puss.

Anyway, we have two pups, now about 17wks and 14wks, and one 14wk old kitten.  We are also having a 7 wk old kitten at the weekend.  Unfortunately the first pup just want to play with the kitten (like he does with the younger pup) and does not realise quite how powerful he is.  The kitten just teases him but I am really worried that the pup will get the better of her.  We have a large garden where the pups spend their days (weather permitting), and a kennel that they refuse to use.  Is there anything that I can do to stop them play fighting, or should I just let nature take its course?

Ohh you are so lucky with your whole new family.  :)  I expect the kitten is tiny & a bit young to be mauled by the pup just yet - might make kitty grow up all nervous - so maybe keep them apart till she is a bit bigger.

Good luck.
