Silly potato question?
« on: July 18, 2007, 18:05:12 »
Can you bake new potatoes? I've got some decent sized ones (think they are Yukon gold) but when I clean them the skin peels off because they are new. Does this mean they have no jacket to bake in? ???

Yes, no jacket.  You could try leaving them for a few days in the dark for the skins to toughen.  That is what I did with my international kidney.  Also, it doesn't really matter, you still get a crunchy outer on a baked tat, and I think the new pots make such lovely creamy jackets.
