Seed Swap - anyone plant Lettuce Grand Rapids?
« on: July 14, 2007, 22:47:41 »
I took a few seeds of Lettuce Grand Rapids from one of the seed swaps after googling it and liking what I saw.

It's taken nicely and now out in the salad patch.

But it looks suspicously like kale to me!

Anyone throw any light on this ???

What were the seeds like? Were they round brassica type, or long thine lettuce type?

45 years ago when doing O Levels we had a project for biology and all took seeds of lettuce "Great Lakes" home to grow, mine were enormous, the size of cabbages which is presumably what the Americans like!
