Hello & welcome. Where are you?
The important thing about orientating rows is that they all get an equal share of sun (What's that, I hear everyone ask!) and don't shade each other. My beds run roughly east to west; some rows (eg carrots) run across, ie north to south; others (eg potatoes) run along, ie east to west. But quite a lot of things don't have rows: beans, courgettes, squashes, onions, lettuce.
Perhaps it doesn't really matter? (But my grapes & loganberries are orientated north to south!) Real experts (Tee Gee?) - what do you think?
The really important thing is that you've got a plot!! Hurray!! (You do know how much hard work is involved, don't you? But that's most of the fun!)
