hiya, cambourne, we've been pumping it into 6 pint milk bottles and watering cans, then using it in the poly bottles, it's run off from the rotted manure we put in the beds so's good stuff
it's like instant diluted feed but there's just so much you can use ;D

Yesterday it rained most of the day. We went over to Ludlow (Shropshire) to see the open air Shakespeare in the castle grounds. Amazingly the rain abated just before the start and there was only a few bits of light drizzle during the performance :D

A very good show - would recommend it to anyone! Only down side was that Mrs Si got annoyed when I tried to tour the gardening shops of Ludlow, perhaps not the best thing to try during her birthday treat :-[

we had loads of rain yeasterday in fact over an inch, woke up this morning and no rain. Everythings dry ish. So made a run for the allotment and decided to pull some spuds, and a couple of onions.

There was some more tomatos ripe so harvested them and loads of redcurrants so took them as well.

Came home with my harvest and decided that i would give the front garden a quick trim since it was vandalised i had left it to recover and the rose has run rampant. I decided that the rain would hold off long enough for me to plant some of the new plants i had in the back garden. So i started planting a privet hedge around the garden, heather and some hebies. The soil is so wet that when i dug a hold you could see the water at the bottom ( dont you just love clay ). So hopefully it will rain later and the hedging will establish. Before the vandles get it.

Sitting here in my nighty now as i am cold and tired hubbie is cooking dinner (Roast beef, yorkshire pud, onion gravy, parsnips, beetroot, carrots) . Did not realise that i had been out there 2 hours. But still i got it finished.

I hope people managed to get something done today.

The long-range forecast predicts a summer with numerous depressions coming in from the Atlantic for the next couple of months with regular heavy showers.

I don't know if this is accurate but it ceryainly gives some food for thought.

Raised beds must be the order of the day. Beef-up the rainwater collection for when it is dry and sunny (dry and sunny? How we laughed!)

HI

Just got back from last session with therapist, and its rained all the way there and back!! Thankfully i did not get a ticket having parked on double yellows outside and i did not get 2 wet !!

Been out the back of the garden and its all flooded we have about an 1inch of standing water, the only good thing is that there are lots of dead slugs floating in it. The birds are do there having a feast. I have moved some of my pot plants into the bottom of my mini greenhouse so they dont get 2 wet and so far there all happy bunnys :-).

I have just finished my macdonnalds Lunch (aka breakfast) and i am going back to bed for a while with a good book.

I hope no one gets any more flooded then they have been.
