Cutting back shrubs into dead wood.
« on: June 27, 2007, 01:35:53 »
Hi folks.

Been a while since I posted here. Unfortunate circumstances stopped me doing as much as I would like.  :(

I have a huge great big hedge down the side of my garden that has probably grown 2ft widthways in the last year with my lack of trimming. If I cut it back to the dead wood, will it kill the whole thing? I'm quite happy to look at a brown hedge for a season, but I'm not sure if my neighbour would be so happy if I killed it permanently.

Oh, and does Hugh Jones still post here? I can't see anything by him.  :-\

What are the shrubs?  Some will come back but others, like conifers, won't.

As for Hugh, I suspect he still lurks.
