Welcome to the forum,Kath. What sort of state is your allotment in? Has it been looked after or neglected? One thing is for certain, it's very wet :D :D :D

hi. everyone has to start somewhere and this is as good a place as any, if you really want to make it work then you really can. try having a look in your local library for some books about growing veg, theres plenty out there. and read up on these forums. ask any questions you like, we love to show off how clever we are (only kidding). ;D
whats the site like? can you see the soil? are there lots of weeds? as for prepering the soil, a lot will depend on how recently it has been worked. a good thing to do is to get to know your allotment neighbours; they will know the history of the plot and what grows well in your soil.
enjoy it and dont forget to keep us posted. :)

Hi Kath, and welcome to A4A. There are lots of nice people here, all happy to help and advise when they can, but remember that this site is more addictive than growing the fruit and veg! ;D

hiya, kath, welcome..make a plan on paper..makes it easier to start, well, we thought so..if you can get some small areas cleared, you can still plan bits and bobs, especially if you can organise some cloches :)

sorry, kathx..a cloche is just a low, plastic tunnel stretched over your crops, it gives a bit of protection when the weather gets a bit ??? colder
can you get a strimmer, best way to see what you've got , never know, there may be fruit bushes or stuff under there :)
