yellow leaves on brugmansia
« on: June 19, 2007, 00:28:39 »
Hi, new here, hope you can help.  Have two Brugmansia for the first time.  One pink and one yellow.  One in a southern exposure and one in a western exposure.  Both are getting very yellow leaves.  Old leaves and new leaves.  Both relatively young plants.   Making sure they have enough water. Cannot see any obvious insects???  Need advice.  Love the plants. don't want to lose them.  Thanks!  Loretta

'Walnut' is a Brugmansia expert. If anyone knows, he will.

Try a high nitrogen feed, that mey well green it up.
Or perhaps a dose of epsom salts would help the plant get some iron.

I generally feed mine once a week with a balanced feed (Growmore, chicken poo)  and its appeas to be quite happy.

I use sequestered iron, sprinkled on the surface and watered in.

I also give mine a regular coffee-ground-and-teabag mulch (my own recipe!) and they perk up wonderfully - incidentally, I also use this on my citrus fruits, blueberries, etc - works a treat.
