Potato haulms
« on: June 04, 2007, 18:29:40 »
Do we put the potato haulms on  the compost or not. I say yes Hubbie says not. I do know that you don't put tatties on there but thought the leaves and stems were ok
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I would say yes, compost them, as long as you are absolutely certain that there is no sign of blight.
Grow your own and enjoy the fruits of your labours,
Regards Alan.

Stems and leaves are fine. Blight can only survive in living tissue, and there's no chance of these coming out alive.
