Emagggie, Supersleuth.
« on: June 02, 2007, 12:21:50 »
Had an hour to spare this morning, so I  hotfooted it to plot with sweetcorn to plant out. I didn't notice at first as I'm not too observant, but as I stood up to survey my handywork I noticed that the mulch from around my beans seemed to have all but disappeared. On further inspection of my stash, there is a trail of straw going from my plot to at least three others  :o Needless to say at least three other peoples strawbs are very nicely tucked up thankyou!
These are people who have had their plots since the year dot. Why they think that gives them the right to help themselves from mine I don't know.
If they had asked I would gladly have given the straw.
Notice going up this afternoon to the effect of 'If anyone would like some straw, PLEASE ASK!
Well that feels better, lunch, now I think. ;D
Smile, it confuses people.

Blimey emaggie, the absolute cheek of it  :o  These old timers really think they own the place sometimes don't they?  ::)

Good for you about the sign, let's hope it shames some of them into apologising

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Talk about brass neck, thats awful, I would hate that.  They just must assume they can help themselves to anything they want.   ::) ::)

I'd take the straw back when there's a nice ripe bed of strawberrys to take with the straw.  ;D ;D ;D

Most of the old gardeners are ok but you do get them as won't comply with the rules. For instance we have had letters to the effect that we cannot use hoses apart from filling our water butts. there are 2 brothers on our site that have been there since the year dot and they just continue to openly flaunt the rules. It takes me all my time to hold my Tony back from going and giving him a piece of his mind. I have mentioned it to the allotment secretary in the nicest possible way.  I said "Is this new rule about the hose pipes only applicable to new tenants" (crafty eh!) He said " Certainly not it applies to every plot holder" Of course I did the dirty deed and shopped the blighter. I don't mind having to water by hand but it wears a bit thin when we are trudging up and down the plot and someone is just standing there waving a hose about. I feel better now lol
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
