growing cucumbers

hello,can anybody give me a bit advice please,i some tanja and marketmore plants that i grew from seed , silly me has lost the packet
they are all in 6" pots and look like they are ready for planting on,do they need supporting or do they trail?and how far apart should i be planting them?? thanks lee. ??? :)

we're growing burpless and some that we were given by an old guy who's lost the seed packet  ;D
I think you can do either with most cucumbers, we grow ours up to keep the nasties from the fruit.. :)
we give them 2' between and they always give us more than we can eat

how many plants do you usually grow? do you just leave the plants to get on with it or do they need things doing to them?

here's how we do it
dig a hole, fill with muck
pile up compost on the top in a mound, plant the cucumber next to support of your choice
bury a cut off 2 pint bottle upside down next to it for watering
liquid feed when there's fruit on it, just learned it's best to take fruit off bottom 12", keeps the fruit up higher
water as necessary
we usually do 3 plants we have 3 and 2 of the unknown quantity this year so, lots of giveaways  :)
