Blinking cheek!  She was very proud, and our sons is just begining to emerge.  Father Christmas gave them sunflowers in a tin to grow, and they did.  She is now hoping to save the seed and grow a mini sunflower plantation!  ;D

All the 'bird-seed' plants I have out are well over 3' tall......not a sign of a flower on any of them.
(Please ask the flower expert in the first posting how she has a flower and I don't!) :'(

I think because she planted it Christmas day and it lived in my conservatory!  :o

Here are a couple of mine on the plot, taken today.
They don't look terribly impressive, but there is still plenty of time, a drop of rain wouldn't go a miss!  >:(

Darn sight more impressive than mine look EJ ;)  Mine didn't have a very good start - battling with greenfly and then no rain to bring them on - don't stand a chance really.  I don't think I will be winning any prizes in the competition :(
Happy gardening all...........Pat

6 foot!  Hells bells, better give mine a good talking to tomorrow!  Mind you, they are about my face high, so a pathetic 5 foot 2 !  The wind caused 2 to break free from their stakes, but didn't damage them, all secured again now and looking good.  No flower buds showing yet in Essex either!  ;D
