Courgettes felled by ? cut worm
« on: May 21, 2007, 20:13:54 »
Anybody got any experience with dealing with cut worms. I have found 2 of my previously healthy and vigourously growing courgette plants (1 on each of the 2 plots we have) snipped neatly across the stems at ground level. A fellow plot holder says it will be cut worms. Not had any problems before but fearing complete decimation of our expected cougette bonanza. Any ideas?

I've had the same happen to one of mine but I put it down to the recent wind.

we lost quite a lot of plants to them last year..our plot had been grass before we took it over..we were told they would be a problem for the first year and gradually decrease over the next couple of years
we were told to fork the ground over when the crops were out to let the birds get at them  :)
