Identification please
« on: May 20, 2007, 19:28:24 »
I dug this pupa up from the ground today and don't know what it is.  My first thought was that it is a cockchafer but it doesn't quite have the same markings and colour as one I found on the web.  It looks almost bee like.

My second picture is of a moth that adorned the front of our house.  I haven't had time to look it up yet as we only returned from holiday yesterday.

Thanks for identifying the moth, Shades.

Just the scary looking pupa/crysalis to identify now.  Any suggestions anyone?  It measures 1 inch long (25mm).  I have it in a small transparent tub so I can keep an eye on it and see what it develops into.

This one doesn't eat anything at the moment as it is still a pupa.   Maybe I have stumbled on a new delicacy.  I will fry it if anyone volunteers to try it.   ;D ;D  Any Aborigines on this site?
