Topic: Any Veg growing TV Programs and magazines?

I've been glued to the repeats of 'The Big Dig' on UKTV Gardens the last couple of weeks but now thats finished I was hungry for more programs about vegetable growing. I've looked through the schedules on that channel and it seems all about general gardening, much like Gardeners World is, while thats all well and good for lots of people I'd love a program just about veg growing. Does anyone know of any? Or good ones on DVD? I know the BBC did one recently (I missed it unfortunately) and I've got the book of that but would love to have it on DVD too...

And, while I'm on the hunt for all things veggie, are there any monthly magazines out there for us veg growers?

I'm trying to soak up as much info as possible this year so I'm ready for when I get my own plot next spring!

There are some magazines but there a little hit and miss in my opinion.

There are things like the following you can buy...

Grow Your Own Veg
Garden News (weekly i think)
Kitchen Gardener

If you google them you can have a look but i would suggest you have a look at what is in your local supermarket which should stock all but Garden News which can be harder to find but quite worth it.

Organic Gardening Magazine is good as well.

Grow it! is a new mag - it has a section in the middle dedicated to all things to do/grow in Polytunnels...

...also, in the "what to do this month" section it is clear, i.e. you buy the mag in May, but it is labelled "June" and can get confused if the stuff to do is in May or June...the Mag has the month actually stated!

...also.. (if you can find any left in WHSmiths) there is "Lets grow Veg" ("Spring 2007")...

It is by the same people behind Grow Your Own, and is £8.99, but comes with:

4. A wall chart with when to plant & gather various crops

There is a programme called Heavens Garden on UK TV Gardens tonight from 8pm to 10.30pm. It is about the creation of a kitchen garden from scratch and I recommend it to you ;)

Im a grow your own reader, you can pick it up in tescos etc. Everything is quite basic and to the point so you cant really go wrong. Quite often it comes with some free seeds.
