soft onions sets

i put my onion sets in and have noticed that a lot of them have gone sort and feel hollo wats wrong

I guess they have been too dry!

What were they like when you put them in?

A few of ours were like that too, i stuck them in anyway to see what would happen.  Should I have chucked them and bought some more?

they were a few sort ones in the bag but i put them in the bin the rest seemed fine but they just not doing mutch same as the leeks and spring onion i think it must be the bed they are in thet grew well last year in the other bed had a good crop
