Am I too late?
« on: April 24, 2007, 09:00:37 »
Hi everyone

I haven't been on the this forum for ages - also admittedly haven't been doing much with my allotment.

I have loads of seeds to sow and haven't done so yet. I also have garlic that I meant to put in but didn't get round to. Am I too late? Is there anything that I just shouldn't bother with now?

welcome back, emmalou, planting stuff always makes me feel better,
have a go at everything, you've got nothing to lose but a few seeds, hope you're ok,  :)

;DThank you that has made me feel much better about things! I was feeling quite dissappointed with myself for not getting organised!

It is late for your garlic however if you plant it now it should grow enough for you to use the larger cloves (if it splits into cloves) for planting next year. Just try it and see you have nothing too loose.

Might be worth sticking the garlic into your fridge for a day or so before planting. Some say that that might be enough to encourage it to form cloves.
